ABOUT

CARA SANDERS AKA

OWLET ART

Cara Sanders, known as Owlet Art, is an artist, creative art therapist, and co-director of Mint Art House in Burleigh Heads, based on Kombumerri Country in Queensland's Gold Coast. Her connection to the natural world and passion for helping people express creativity is evident in her work. After traveling around Australia painting her way across the country, her land-meets-sea-themed style came to life, capturing the dynamic beauty where earth and ocean converge.

As a creative art therapist, Cara has a deep passion for helping youth through the transformative power of art. She combines her artistic practice with therapeutic techniques, offering a space for young people to express themselves, explore emotions, and heal through creative expression.

Cara has undertaken large-scale commissions across Queensland for the Brisbane Lions AFL Team, Brisbane Street Art Festival, Mackay Regional Council, and Gold Coast Surface Festival. She has collaborated with artist Brad Turner, the City of Gold Coast Level Up, and the Mint Art House Collective for Bleach Festival and Big City Lights. Cara has exhibited at Dust Temple (2018), Vacant Assembly (2020), and Level Up (2021). In 2022, her work appeared on season eighteen of The Block on Channel Nine nationally and exclusively on the label of boutique gin distillery Granddad Jacks Gin. She has exhibited interstate with Gallery Alchemy (2023) and the Affordable Art Fair (2023 & 2024).

Her work continues to evolve, inspiring both personal reflection and a deeper connection to the natural world.
