Cara Sanders also known as Owlet is a self- taught artist and muralist based in Gold Coast, Australia where she works as a resident artist at Mint Art House. Owlet’s practice is a love of process inspired by a connection to the natural world and a curiosity for life. Abstract and expressionistic, her compositions are energising and sensual landscapes translated by moods and experiences.

Since completing her Bachelor of New Media Art (2013) she has undertaken public art projects across Australia and supported by Mackay City Council to undertake mentorship in a 20m high water tower mural in North Queensland. Cara channels her imagination further from the canvas into unconventional solo shows around Queensland including Dust Temple 2018, and a sold out opening at Vacant Assembly with This Is Art in 2020. Upcoming in July 2021, at Mint Gallery is her latest showcase for the launch of her new collection ‘The Untamed’. Cara is a member of the HOTA (Home of the arts) Gallery Visual Arts Youth Advisory Group.

Cara’s style continues to develop through deforming and reinventing herself. She is constantly finding new ways to share her passion with people all over the world. Her work can be found throughout Australia.
